Microsoft Ignite 2022 just wrapped up and they announced a lot of changes coming to Teams later this year.   Here are some top picks to enhance your meeting experience, drive engagement, and bring fun into your digital workspace.

Microsoft Meetings

Meta and Microsoft have teamed up to bring Metaverse to meetings using Microsoft Mesh.  Create up to three animated versions of yourself, with hundreds of options, to choose how you want to express yourself in your next meeting without having to turn on your camera. This is only the beginning. Eventually Teams will have a more in-depth immersive experience using virtual reality.

 

Excel Live

This feature allows you to edit workbooks in real-time, on any device,  including IOS phone and tablets. Excel Live supports Sheet view to allow everyone to edit, sort, and filter without disrupting anyone else’s view.

Together Mode

This feature within Teams makes you feel like you are in the same room with your co-workers. The enhanced feature with this option will allow organizers and presenters to assign seats to their meeting participants. To ensure everyone has the same view select together mode for everyone in the settings.  This feature may already be available, so give it a try at your next meeting.

Chats, Channels, and Collaboration

Soon Microsoft Channel Chats will be getting a facelift to drive engagement by offering a new layout.  This new layout will consist of recent posts appearing at the top of the page, new post types for announcements or video clips, and an option to customize your channel headers.

In addition to these enhancements new options will also be available within chats. For example,

• @mention – allows you to quickly add new people into the chat and choose how much history you want to share instead of manually adding them in.

• @everyone – will send everyone in the group chat a notification eliminating the need to manually add in everyone’s name.

• Delete Chat – will keep your chat messages organized by removing conversations. This will not impact other participants in the same chat.
